We were lucky to have Neil Barraclough, Carolyn Gemmell and Anton Boyd at Fruit Rescue HQ this month grafting dozens of heritage fruit trees while sharing their decades of knowledge with community. The range of scion choice was mind boggling and they were so generous with their time and skills - thank you so much!!!

This season has been one for the books! Our volunteers have helped rescue a whopping 600 kg of lemons from backyards, nature strips, and community gardens across Warrnambool and surrounds.

Ever wanted to graft your own fruit trees? Preserve old varieties, start an orchard on a budget, or grow multiple fruit types on one tree with the help of some expert instruction.

Fruit Rescue has completed its inaugural Warrnamb-oil olive collection, with 913kg of locally grown olives gathered from backyards and community spaces across Warrnambool, Koroit, and Port Fairy.

We’re aiming higher and need help to turn Warrnambool’s overlooked olives into delicious, locally made oil.

Our latest harvest smashes the record once again—an incredible 276kg of apples and pears were picked by an amazing crew of volunteers, all under the guidance of our newest harvest leader, Maggie.

We’re excited to offer free fruit tree health checks to coincide with the launch of our second harvest season. We’ve got an ambitious goal of rescuing two tonnes of fruit to redistribute in the community.

We had planned to harvest olives for the first time, and through the Grampians Olive Co process them into oil. The olive trees had other plans, with a very small harvest across the state.
