Fruit Rescue heads to Koroit’s Picnic in the Paddock

Fruit Rescue partnered up with our friends at Koroit Community Produce & Plant Swap to spread the word about how great it is to connect with community.

We headed to St Patricks Primary School Koroit to join in the fun and family-friendly Picnic in the Paddock and what a glorious day it was!

There were so many people stopping to chat with us and tell us about their amazing fruit trees. While we didn’t originally intend to go wider that the Warrnambool City Council boundaries, if we can get enough volunteers in this area it’s certainly something we are keen to explore.

The Produce & Plant Swap is held monthly at the Koroit Theatre and is a great place to bring excess produce, seedlings, plants, cuttings, flowers, seeds, preserves, eggs to share with other passionate local gardeners.

We’ll be taking excess Fruit Rescue produce there when the dates align so it was great to collaborate in this way.
